With a brief warm spell, Spring looked as if it was making an appearance, alas it soon resorted to unsettled and a bit cold. The warm patch spurred us into action and we tackled a few of those pre-Spring chores, clean patio, furniture etc etc. I even managed a real clear out and re-organise of the garage, amazing how much clutter one accumulates!
After months of looking we’d booked a week in May to the Maldives, unfortunately Donald Trumps war with Iran made the Middle East very tricky to travel to, our trip included a change of planes in Abu Dhubi and the Foreign Office were stating not to fly, plus we found out our Holiday Insurance wouldn’t cover us. So we took the decision to cancel, and fair play to the Travel Agents we were refunded the next day.
Mothers Day was spent with Phil, Gaby, Grandchildren and Clare at South Lodge near Horsham, very nice Sunday lunch, expensive but worth it.
The car hunt for Gilly continues and there could be promising news very soon!
I treated myself to a new mtb, 99 bikes in Chichester were doing a deal and were reducing a fairly top end Scott Spark by £1500, it was still expensive but after a lot of deliberating I decided to go for it, after talking to Paul about it (not Gary – it’s a long story!) initially, I sealed the deal with Aaron and picked it up on Sunday 29th March with a maiden ride on Tuesday 31st March. The ride was different but it did feel good especially on the rough stuff.
Other news, we have a pair of Great Tits building a nest in the bird box, they’re really starting to get busy!
Work has been up and down but varied, had a trip up to Perth in Scotland which was a long drive on a Monday morning! The highlight was haggis as a side for breakfast!
