Overall it’s been a very warm summer so far, so no excuses with getting out for evening walks, going to the pub etc.

Raised the bar fro Friday night’s date night with a late afternoon trip down to Gunwharf by train, a very tasty light dinner at the Alchemist followed by champagne and cocktails at the Spinnaker Tower Skybar, which was brilliant, timed the session perfectly with the evening sunset.

She’s electric!

After a very brief conversation with Renee about her new electric bike conversion, we went up to Owens Cycles to found out more, the idea of making it easier and more fun for Gill was very appealing and after a quick demo her Specialized mtb was in for conversion.

Within a few days we had the bike back and this coincided with Ali & Chris having the weekend off and wanted to do some bike rides, on the Saturday we went for the Hampton Court to Richmond ride with a loop back via Richmond Park. It was a lovely day and a mix of on road and trails, the new bike was perfect and I even struggled to keep up on the hills. Ali & Chris were on their cross-bikes and myself on my old skool spesh.

Surprisingly Ali & Chris were up for another ride on the Sunday and this time we opted for the ride to Wittering along the Centurion Way from Lavant, this time A & C opted for their mtbs. Took quite awhile to get to Wittering as Ali seemed very very tired, but we got there early afternoon. Myself & Ali went for a quick dip in the sea at West Wittering (it was very busy and the sea was quite murky). Quickly dried off and cycled back the way we came, this time stopping off at the Rose & Crown at Apaldrum, where we had a nice meal. Back on the bikes for the return leg and myself & Gilly even had a tear up on the climb up to Lavant!

The e-bike conversion so far has been brilliant and Gilly is so thrilled with it and is even planning more rides which is unheard of!
