This event always tends to be eventful and this year was no exception, myself, Andy, Rob and John H lined up for this event reasonably confident of a decent performance. Unfortunately about 2 minutes after starting it absolutely chucked it down, now I don’t mind the rain but this was so bad I couldn’t see the guys wheel in front of me! We carried on but I kept leaving gaps and after awhile the gap was too big and I left the 3 of them to it.
Meanwhile Phil, Seb, Darren and Paddy set off and although Darren had the misfortune to puncture and damage his rim, the remaining 3 stuck at it to record a fast 51:54 putting them in 4th place.
