It’s fair to say I don’t have a lot of luck with cars, this time while on a short shopping trip in Waterlooville, the beamer made a strange shuddering with smoke coming out of the front. Luckily we were parked and on investigation it turns out the front belt had snapped. Tried the RAC who were impossible to get through to and also BMW Hook who were very good and arranged for the car to be picked up, delivery driver wanted us to let change the belt but on phoning BMW was advised not to do this, the car went back to Hook and Ted came to our rescue.
Turns out it was the air con compressor pump had failed causing the belt to snap. This was carried out under warranty and was without the car for a few days.
