Tom was coming over from Malta to go to the British Grand Prix plus also as a guest chef for 2 nights at Tom Simmonds restaurant ‘Thomas’ in Pontcanna, Cardiff.

The event was on the 3rd and 4th July and we went along on Tuesday 4th July, we arrived in Cardiff mid-afternoon and checked into the ‘Beverley’ Inn just around the corner from the restaurant.

Journey wasn’t great down with very heavy rain and lots of traffic.

Ali and Chris arrived later.

Meal at ‘Thomas’ was great and the two Tom’s prepared an amazing taster meal.

On the Wednesday we went for a quick stroll round Cardiff, met up with Tom and headed back for home. Literally pulling out of the hotel car park we heard a loud noise from the back of the car, my suspicions were confirmed it was another coil spring failure and the broken spring was resting on the rear axle, a very slow and steady drive back home and luckily no further dramas.

After going around several places back home we were able to get it fixed for ‘cash’ which was great.

The next day I put a deposit on a 2019 plate 5 series! Watch this space!
