It’s been another Covid year, with the Christmas and the close of 2021 dominated by the Omicron variant. We had plans to travel to Malta to see Tom on Boxing Day but the restrictions changed and this would’ve involved multiple tests and 2 day isolation on our return, we decided to cancel and re-booked for his birthday.

Phil caught covid on the run up to Christmas, but luckily was clear by Christmas Eve where we all met up at the Queens Head for the traditional Chrisdingle Church service at Greatham, this was very pleasant and we were joined by Jodie & Paul, Margaret & Peter, Ben & Brendan, Phil/Gaby & Skylar plus the usual suspects. Our planned Christmas Day at Phil & Gabys went ahead and it was lovely to spend it with them on Skylars first Christmas. Unfortunately 3 days later Gaby tested positive for covid with cold-like symptoms.

As I write this, Tom’s big NYE meal at Graceys in Malta has been cancelled, Tom and many members of staff have tested positive for covid, luckily it seems that the omicron variant isn’t as aggresive as other versions and most peoples symptoms are mild. We’ve decided not to go out on NYE this year as the new variant is everywhere.

Highlights of 2021;

  • Welcoming Skylar into our lives, born 21st August 2021, she is such a bundle of happiness and joy.
  • Tom starting his new adventure in Malta as head chef at Graceys, away from the stresses of London and a much better climate.
  • WGP Digital – business has boomed this year with many different projects.
  • Cycling trip to the Lake District with my cycling buddies.
  • Clare moved to Butser Walk in Petersfield.
  • We had a new bathroom fitted, which is very nice.
  • A night in London, with a meal at Bob Bob Ricard.
  • A weekend in Dorset, which coincided with England being in the Euros final.
  • A day at the F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, I was only there for the Friday but Phil & Matt were there for the whole GP weekend.

Here’s to 2022!
