Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th April 2022

Myself and Gill had booked this short trip as a replacement for our cancelled Boxing Day trip to Malta.

A bad start to the trip as EasyJet cancelled our flight at the last minute, we never found out until we went to board! Lots of argy bargy at the airport, to cut a long story short we were booked onto the Friday flight and we stayed at Phil and Gaby’s for the night instead of going home, lovely to grab some time with Skylar.

Friday – flight went as planned and we arrived in Santorini for around 18:30, taxi to Oia ( pronounced E Ah!)

Arrived at the Aplada Suites, first impressions of the suites weren’t great, a bit chilly inside, no tea coffee etc etc.

Went for a walk and had a nice dinner in Oia, although expensive for what is was.

Saturday: Breakfast was per-ordered and delivered for 8:30, Uber eats style, not overly impressed! Spent the rest of the day with a short bus trip to Fira and wandering round the delightful Oia. Weather was sunny but with a chilly breeze, sun bathing at the apartment was for the hardy and we lasted 30 minutes!

Many conversations with Yiannis our host and he agreed to refund us 1 night and 2 breakfasts, as long as we give a 10 review, which will be difficult. The apartment is nice and in 30 degrees heat would be amazing, but a windy 18 not so much.

Went back to Oia for the sunset and had a nice meal, although quite quickly Gilly started to develop a dodgy tummy and it was a very quick walk back to the suite, I had a few visits to the toilet as well and we both suspect it was the ice!

Sunday: Another sunny/breezy day and we went out for breakfast and a small wander. Typical but it was starting to feel warmer as we were waiting for the taxi.
