Wednesday 27th September 2023
Flew out on the 20:30 flight from LHR.
Just myself and Gill this time.
Flight delayed a bit and arrived in Malta around 00:40, taxi to Tom and Tuvas apartment. Met their new puppy, Billy!
We were going to stay here for this short break which was nice, lovely apartment in Floriana overlooking the harbour.
Thursday
Very tired today, strolled down to Valletta with Tom, had coffee and waited until midday for the gun salute. Tom went to the gym and we caught the ferry to Sliema where we did the usual shops, Zara and The Point shops.
Back to the apartment, popped down to the harbour with Tom and dogs for a pint and a pizza.
Friday
Chill out in the morning, walk into Valletta and lunch at Gracey’s. Fabulous meal with champagne and wine, all on the roof terrace.
Just the 4 of us.
Back to the apartment, myself and Gilly walked back into Valletta where we were able to gatecrash the BMW launch event. Canapé and preseco at this very posh event, hilarious.
Picked up some pizza and the way back to have at the apartment.
Saturday
Walk round the local gardens with Jordan and Billy.
Bit of sunbathing
Meeting Danny at Sliema to go for a trip on Greg’s small speedboat.
Absolutely brilliant fun, water was a bit choppy so headed South to the 2 popular bays near Hofriet. Very pretty bays.
The 3 boys went for a swim, constantly on the look out for jelly fish!
Stayed for awhile and headed back, very choppy on the way back.
Once back and the boat packed away myself and Gilly walked back to The Point, had a glass of wine and bussed back to Valletta. Picked up some pasta and had that back at the apartment with Tom.
Sunday
Bolt taxi to Marsaxlokk, which is a nice fishing port, very busy so after a wander bussed back to Valletta. Popped back to the apartment and then gondola over to the 3 cities. Lovely location and after a walk stopped at ‘cargo’ for lunch, started well but the calamari was disappointing and sent it back, bit of a row ensued as they thought it was okay even if it was Luke warm, small and chewy. Ended up not paying for that element and carried on with our day with a whirlwind tour round St.Angelo fort.
Back to Valletta via the gondola and lift and then the apartment.
Out for dinner and walked into Valletta, first stop cocktails and then onto ‘D Office’ for dinner, sat outside in the warm. Really nice evening.
Monday
Out for breakfast at ‘Tribe’ with all of us and the dogs, back to apartment for chill out time.
Flight was a 5pm and got a taxi to the airport.
We’d been upgraded to business class which was very nice with no queuing and use of the lounge.
Amazing trip to see Tom, Tuva, Jordan and the new puppy Billy.
Weather has been really warm in the high 20s. Great staying in their apartment and they’re very lucky where they live.
Spending time in Valletta has been brilliant with so much to see and do.
