Tom and Tuva were coming to the UK for a holiday and they were determined to bring Jordan, the only fly in the ointment was that most of their flights were ok except surprise surprise into the UK, so they flew to France via Munich and caught the train to Calais. We in the meantime took Gilly’s car (mine still wasn’t fixed after spending weeks at the garage) across to Calais from Folkestone via the Le Tunnel.
We arrived in Calais around 11:30 their time and drove along the coast road towards Wissant on the D940, the roads were so quiet and the countryside very picturesque. The only downside to this was that the villages, cafes/bars/shops etc were all closed! We carried onto Bolougne-sur-Mer, parked up and went for a wander, this was a largish town and we were able to get a baguette and coffee, it had also started raining and we decided to head to the village of Calais, this was very sleepy too but we stocked up with cheap red wine.
From here we went to the train station and collected Tom, Tuva and Jordan.
Tom & Tuva stayed with us for a few nights before heading over to Phil & Gabys. Jordan is definitely their substitute baby, sleeps in their bed and if they had their way would eat his meals at the table with us!
Kon’nichiwa Jordan!
