Myself, Trev & John Glaysher teamed up for this team time trial, having never ridden competitively together before it was going to be interesting to see how we would get on.
We knew from previous years that it was a tough course, but this year a stretch of road had the top layer of tarmac taken off leaving a very rough “roubaix” style section, also to make it even tougher there was a very strong head-wind on large part of the course to contend with.
Fortunately we rode very well together and managed to stay free of punctures finishing in a time of 1:00:01 in 3rd place, really chuffed as we beat a lot of good teams in very tough conditions.
Unfortunately luck wasn’t on the side of Darryls team (Rob & John) as Darryl punctured leaving Rob & John to ride together as a 2up finishing about 11 secfonds behind us.
Now what shall I do with my substantial winnings?
