Myself, Rob and John set off down to Kent for this 25 mile team time trial, only as the event grew nearer did I realise what I had let myself in for. Turns out it was New Romney in deepest Kent and to make our 8:30 ish start we had to leave at 5:00 in the morning, with myself up at 4:15. Confidence was high as we were all feeling fairly fit, unfortunately we got very carried away at the start with the pace much too high, one of us was going to pay and wasn’t long before I found myself struggling with the pace. Spent the remaining 20 miles hanging in and limiting the amount of turns I did on the front, finished in 6th place in 57:33.
Extremely gutted as we had the potential to be on the podium.
